Today the industrial camera manufacturer will answer some questions about industrial cameras for you.
What is the maximum frame rate (Frame Rate) / line frequency (Line Rate)?
A: The maximum frame rate/line frequency of an industrial camera indicates the rate at which the camera captures images per unit time.
Usually the frame rate is relative to the area scan industrial camera, and the unit is fps, such as 181fps, that is, the camera can capture up to 181 frames of images per second. The line frequency is relative to the line scan industrial camera, and the unit is kHz, such as 80kHz, that is, the camera can collect up to 80,000 lines of image data per second.
How does pixel size affect imaging?
A: A pixel is an image unit, which is the smallest unit that makes up a digital image.
The pixel size and the number of pixels (resolution) jointly determine the size of the camera target surface. Usually, the pixel size of an industrial camera is 2 μm to 14 μm. The pixel size reflects the chip’s responsiveness to light to some extent. In general, the larger the pixel size, the more photons it can receive, and the amount of charge generated under the same lighting conditions and exposure time more.
